    • IMO you got off INCREDIBLY easily..even though i agree with you on there in full

youre lucky 1-2 people came along and agreed with you and gave the sheep something to follow. the entire threads direction is typically dictated by the first 5 opinions.

Place the punch on the broken nub in the frame, Give it a good whack or two and the welded nut inside the frame should break free. its only held on with 3 tiny tack welds. Then you can drop a bolt and washer in from up top with some stiff wire. Its so much easier then drilling. If you drill you will still have that nut inside the frame and less room to fit in a new bolt. If you punch it out there will be plenty of room and a nice hole for a new bolt. Just try it on one and you will see what i mean.

Just trying to save you some aggravation and time.
This is incredibly easy and what I've done a couple times...the little pocket works fine to get new nuts or bolts into place. I took a wrench and taped the nut in place then slid it back, makes the job a whole lot easier just punching them out.

        • axle is in, sitting on all fours.

Ive made the decision that its gonna stay here in CT for a few weeks. Realistically, yeah, I could probably "finish" it tomorrow, but it would be rushed, it would be pretty hard to get done, and I still have a lot of other things needed to be done other than the jeep ( go see my mom and my grandmother among other things ). I still dont have any rear shock mounts, OR shocks for that matter. My gears are not broken in, no driveshaft made, the list goes on and on.

So, ill do alittle work tomorrow, im gonna get my front drive shaft in and park it over at my house.

Ill be back MAYBE for Xmas or new years, and then again the 12-19th of january. Ill have plenty of time to get it ready and have it done by then to wheel the 16th of january.

I may even have enough money by then to get some bumpers....

                        • still trying to figure out what I want for a front bumper, I have found nothing that really impresses me yet, but I think im just getting a bad impression from the online pictures. Im sure if I saw it in person I would change my mind, but still trying to figure out what I want. Wanted a winch bumper but it seems every one i find makes your jeep into a Jay Leno.

                              • just read his write up. seems pretty straight forward. That bumper alone is 325 and another 20 or so for the winch plate....

                                Im intrigued....
