If I was going to add a bolt I would really like it to almost be an interference fit. Drilling another hole just puts more stress on the frame rails when its in a tensile load

A weld in sheer takes out the horizontal movement caused by the force of the axle. If RE really wanted to do it right they would lower the placement of the two horizontal bolts which would remove most of the moment on the entire bracket

yeah, mine is welded and still came fuckin loose until i loctited the shit outta it.

          i want a cross brace.

So I think I'm going to direct my build toward beefing up the Jeep in general. A lot of my plans will go through depending on if I get a job at school or not but here is what I want to do in the near future:

            -Steering box brace
            -TNT Frame Stiffeners
            -Gas Tank Skid
            -Front and rear Diff Covers
            -Possibly Lock the 27 Spline
            -SYE

I hope that within the next year I'll have it geared but I really dont want to waste money in the 27 spline. I'm going to try to find an XJ 44 to build up, gear, and lock, then throw it in and then gear the D30 when I get a chance. Let me know what you guys think and if there is something I should look into as well

its near alex p and others. seems like a good deal to me. the powetrax itself is worth the whole cost.

                        Next up:

-Plate the rear passenger side of my frame (found some cancer) and patch the rust holes in the floor (people are starting to complain their feet are cold).

-Install gas tank skid, new rear shocks, finish making bumper
