They actually make 5.38s for Dana 30s? Last I bought gears for a d30 which was two years ago or more they only made up to 4.88. I can't imagine that pinion getting any smaller without just turning to dust.

    Oh and Dana 44 > 8.8

Just because i've been thinking about it, If i was budget minded and wanted a good performing "bolt on" jeep (meaning i didnt want to fab my own suspension ect.)

          motor / gaurds:
          1" mml
          flat belly skid
          gas tank skid
          rocker gaurds
          trim da fendas

          axles:
          d30 front
d44 rear w/ bracket kit (mover rear shocks up)
          4.88 gears
          lunchbox lockers

          suspension / steering:
          max 3" lift prob 2~2.5
          SYE w/ driveshaft
adjustable control arms w/ flex joints
adjustable track bars with flex joints
          1:ton over the knuckle steering
antirock if you can swing the loot

          all on 33" KM2's

you would have a kick ass little jeep that would be capable as all hell , i personally wouldn't do 35's

ok now i might be asking too much from you, but from the build plan you mentioned, what would be the order you would go in, because obviously a first year college student could do all that at once

skids & steering first... so your shit wont break and get beat up first
then gears and lockers... so you can do cool shit
then new control arms ect.... so you can perform better

90% of FF D60's come with 30 spline shafts, and a super 8.8 kit can use up to a 33 spline chromoly shaft.

Now, hardly anyone runs the stock D60 stuff, but I'm just sayin
