seems like an opinion thread on axle choice.
I chose the 8.8 due to availability, disc brakes, and 4.10. also i think its more beef than a 44. but thats for a cherokee.
for you, a 44 will be easier to swap (if you find one out of a TJ) and you are running 33s so I dont think strength is the issue here. I think it depends on how much work you want to do.
I agree with what RJ said. but I think its only 3/4" difference in length?????
In my opinion, go with a TJ 44 and gear to 4.88, add some skids, and wheel it. Just for ease of install.
