        i think a tryrod is what dickerman has in his jeep
        I once had a 93 XJ, 4.5" o' lift, 33" TSL Super Swampers, 8.25 rear Detroit locked. 2,000 Lb Steering. Custom rockers, Sam's old Bumpah. Cherry Bomb BITCH. SOLD

            I do not think the steering box is the problem. Sounds like something bent, you can do a rough check of the toe with a tape measure. Measure the distance between the front tires at the front of the tires and then at the back of the front tires. These distances should be the same maybe a little less in the front but not much. If you are not sure bring it to an alignment shop.

            I also don't think it is the column having play. The column is not rotating faster as you increase driving speed. The play in the column will probably amplify any vibration from the tires to your hand on the steering wheel. Good luck
