after a few weekends with the new axles/tires....
im beginning the process of properly bump stopping. Armand and I took a trip to harbor freight sunday and i purchased a flux core welder ... im working on a set of plates mounted off the u-bolt plate for the rear end to rais the bump stop contact point and adding longer bumps in the front. my next project will be to raise the rear shock mounts.
i just gotta practice welding first
pics will be up of the future shit i will most likely destroy/ruin/breakLast edited by JoeNitro; 03-03-2010, 09:19 PM.#becauseJoeNitro

i took an extra set of u-bolt plates and welded 2 pices of anlge iron together to form a [] i then welded that to the u-bolt plate and bolted the plates to just the inner u-bolts on the axle so it overhung right under the rear bump stop, i added a support under the plate that sits on the axle tube so the plate will not bend, this created a raised contact point so my tires dont get smashed up into my fenders during flekx...
the creation
driver side at its contact point
passenger side at contact point
tire at full flex, no rubbing
then i used some plates and random metal i found in the scrap truck at work and built a little t-case skid just something to help protect it from being drug over rocks. its welded to the cross member and then off the back of the skid is a plate that is welded to the bottom and side of the unibody rail for added support...
sry shitty cell phone pics its all i had on me at the time...#becauseJoeNitro
