Harry's thread to organize all his Jeep thoughts
Ordering a 32 spline output for my D20. 1.5" longer than stock and I like having an endless supply of XJ driveshafts and I'm tired of dragging my rear bumper so much so I decided to stretch the rear another 2". Did this using S10 springs which are the same length as the Dodge van leaves which give a nice shackle angle but have the center pin 3" further back.
The S10 leaves didn't look as beefy as my van leaves. Probably a good thing, but I decided to build a traction bar to be on the safe side. Went with the "slip and twist" design to save ground clearance instead of using a shackle. 2" square 3/16" wall tube with 1-5/8" 1/8" wall DOM inside it. Made the upper link mount long to strengthen it, hopefully it doesn't bend.
