I did under the cab, outside of the frame rails. Under the cab is actually very clean still. A real trouble spot is the front cab mounts behind the front tires. Get a blow gun and a piece of brake line and stick it in the hole, blow, and see how much dirt and sand comes out. I can try to snap some pics if you want.

Andrew - this is what I am talking about

It is right behind the front tire, and a lot of road debris had been trapped in there after 15 years. If have a blow gun to hook to an air compressor attach a long tube (3/16 brake line works great) stick the tube up in the hole and shoot air in it for about 10 minutes and watch all of the crap come out. There are a few more holes in the mount where you can do the same thing. Once you look at it you will know what I am talking about. Get to the rust before it gets to you!

A small update. I spent about half of the day filling out job apps and looking at jobs. Then, I went to the shop and installed a new driver side e brake cable and adjusted the brakes, and put one more coat of paint on. Its back on 4 tires again and all of the welding is done. Today I am going to tackle the front fenders

Also to anyone doing something like this: from my experience I have found it is worth the extra time to remove the springs, wiring, fuel tank, etc. It only takes about an extra hour and you don't have to work around those things. And most importantly, the end result is a lot nicer

A lot of older trucks have shackles mounted that way, they sell shackle reversal kits for lift if i remember correctly.

oh ok i know what you are talking about.....i was actually looking underneath my truck today and my frame is actually in really good shape. I think its cause of all the oil that has been leaking

WOW! what a great job you did. Wish I had done this to my old F250 I got rid of. If I was half as talented....or could just weld. Cant wait to see it done.
