More progress

I had to patch some of the cab support behind the old panels that were rusty.

Start
Remove rusted area


Cut out patches with aid of this fancy tool I have, sheet metal shear


Weld in patches




Sanded down and cleaned with mineral spirirts

Primed then painted



Installing new panels




New door, no rust!

Everyone it saying it would be funny to leave these on here, but instead I am going to run these emblems off of an 06-08 Dodge Cummins. The rest of the truck will be badgeless

I made more progress tonight, I will post pics when I can get on my gf's computer. I have a 4 day weekend starting tomorrow; I want to send the truck to my buddys paint shop monday night

Spot welded seams thanks to this sweet unit i borrowed from work (had to fix it first)




Clean the frame with mineral spirits and put on a couple coats of primer. If you use mineral spirits as a surface prep it works great, just watch what you do with the used rags... I almost burned my shop down when a spark landed in the garbage can

Yes I try to do things right to the best of my abilities. I am sending it to someone else to get it painted tho

Lost my job yesterday so I'll have plenty of time to work on it over the next few weeks
