Got a few things done today that I have been putting off.
Actually started last night, cut the rear quarters a bit more. Started to cut out the inners to make room for some new inner wheel tubs.
This morning I woke up and pulled the rear out. I redrilled the perches and spring plates 1.25" farther back, to make for a total of 2.25" back.
Once I got that done I moved on to my brakes. My pedal was low, and the brakes just didnt feel great for being what it is.
I grabbed a 99+ dodge ram 1500-2500 van master cylinder and installed it. It is shorter than the pickup version, but still the 1.25" bore over the 1.0625" XJ.
Now the pedal has a stock feel and the little bit I drove it feels much better than it was.
Dan.

I got a little done today. Really needed to redo bumps up front. I wanted to do something a little different. Heres what I came up with.

I really wish I had a plasma. Id like to cut basically a circle with legs. So the legs could be folded 90 degrees to bolt through and then I would have a nice circular bump pad/support to hold a puck or later a piece of uhmw.Dan.

I put the bumps in tonight. I did it outside in the dark and Im not really happy with them. They looked good but when I flexed it they arent contacting exactly where I want them to.
Im going to have to redo something, not sure exactly what yet.
But here it is for now

It needs to point out more. I thought the lower pad would be more inside once it came up.
I wish I didn't weld the plate on the inside of the tube too, I'd just cut it at the tube and pull the bottom out and reweld.Dan.

I think for right now Im going to modify the bottom part. I just cut 2 circular pieces of 1/4". Im going to weld them over the plate that I have already welded to the bottom a bit offset, and redrill the pucks a bit offset to move them in, but have enough support. Because part of the other issue is the the bump hits the puck towards the backside, where there is no plate under it so it bends it over. So I think with a plate just bigger than the puck and it moved back a little bit it will work out fine. It wont hit dead center or perfectly straight, but who cares. It will work. Next year its getting air bumps and this is all getting cut off anyway.
Or if it goes the way I want it will have ORI's up front and I wont need bumpsDan.
