Got bored today and finally got to work on my tire carrier. I have been debating on how to do it. This is not the permanent mount, it will be getting a trailer spindle, but right now its basically in double shear with 1/2" plate and a 5/8" bolt to swing on.
I needed to keep it nice and high to not drag the tire and wated it angled with the rear window. I think it worked out well

It took a good years beating on 35's and a bunch of hard trips on the iroks so Im not upset in the least bit about it.
Time for the 10.25 to get built and I have to find another front 60. Looking for a later ford ball joint 60. Ill start building the rear in the meantime.
Only thing that really sucks is Ill have to go to a 17" rim, which means selling mine. The 2 iroks I just bought have gone about 300 miles. Im sure Ill get beat up on that deal.Dan.

How much cheaper would it really be? Not a lot. Plus the same size u joint un the front. C clips in the rear. Not really all that much of an upgrade.
I'm gonna do this once so I never regret my choice or have to upgrade again.
Since I have to change rims too which means tires again, I'm basing everything off running a 40" tire.Dan.
