it IS a downhill bike. Gawsh.

Adam I guess we're not cool enough 'cause we don't have hydraulic brakes. Let's go ride the canal trails with all the old people because we can't survive a downgrade.

i has a sports authority mongoose special. its one of the mid-range mongooses from like 7 years ago. not cheap wal-mart rated, but nowhere near the level of what you guys have

i never did anything intense with it

i rocked the paved bike paths and dirt roads back in the day

i know what kind of bike it is. I prefer hydro to cable because messing with cables sucks and you can definitely get more stopping power but you can argue more but there is a reason hydros exist.

i can modulate my hydros like nothing i've used before. how does locking your brakes up give you more control?

                            Your welcome. LOL

I love my Mechanical discs. They Stop fucking great, and are relatively maintenance free and easy to work on on the trail. 8" front rotor, 6" rear Hayes Mechanical discs. Almost every shop has pads for them too so if i needed them in a pinch it usually is not an issue finding brake pads.
