Got my new Maxxis Hookworm 26x2.5 tires today. Went out and bought new tubes (ouch $6 each) and installed the tires. Its too dark for pics though. But DAYUM these things are massive. They look awesome but still a little funny at the same time because i am used to knobby tires but they roll so nicely i think it will be a blast to ride urban assualt style.

Now i just need to pick out a less painful saddle.

Here are a few more sweet vids.

    Kranked Revolve trailer.

I'm currently drawing up designs for a ramp I'm going to get started on tommorow.

I've got a 6x4' piece of nice plywood sitting in the garage that does nothing but sheild my ass from the cold ground while wrenching. I think I can live without it.

I've been thinking somewhere between 3-4' tall. At 4' I'm starting to think either the transition will be really harsh, or the radius will be too steep. But, I don't want to end up with a pussy ass ramp if 3' is too low.

I'm thinkin 3 1/2' might be the sweet spot.

4' is very much taller than most people expect, you'd be better off with a more 'scooped' 3footer, somethng that'll give you more ups

On another note what's a decent upgrade fork setthat won't have my bank foreclosing on me

I definetly considered that, but with a little searching I got scared that the radius would be too steep for a mountain bike. The longer the wheelbase, the more gradual you want the radius to be. If that makes sense.

I think I'm going to start at 3.5 feet, and see how that looks when I mock it up rough. That way, if I decide to change I can easily drop it down to 3'.

And x2 on a decent fork set.

Look at Marzocchi. They sell some awesome stuff and if you check out pricepoint or another internet bike store you can buy last year model forks for a steal. But make sure it is around the same stroke as the one you have now or your head angle will be all raked out and you will hate life.

Even i would be wary of jumping that bike unless you make a real smooth transition. There is minimal gusseting on that frame and its not built to take repeated jumps and when ( not if cuz it always happens) you crash it or case it, check for cracks because i have cracked 2 or 3 frames doing stupid shit.

this is alex by the way. using my brothers comp in vegas.

fork- if you don't mind buying a new center hub for your front wheel, i have a 2003 Marzocchi Junior T in fine condition that only has about 100 miles on it, almost none of it trails. it was on my pavement pounder. axle included.

Yea I'm looking at selling this piece and getting something more capable for jumping and just all around fun.

What do you guys think of this? It's small, but I don't think that's really a bad thing for what I intend to use it for. Plus, it's right in my ballpark price range.

How much could I even sell mine for? I was thinking around $250 but I really don't have a clue.

                              • Almost done.

Ran out of plywood at the top section, and the only stuff I had was much thicker that I used for the sides.

It's 3.5' tall, and about 8' long with somewhere around a 9-10' radius. Should provide plenty of air time.

                                Total cost < $80
