Make sure your town approves you for a handgun permit. Passing the pistol permit class is only half the battle. Now you gotta find 3 references, fingerprint, wait forever, and make sure the individual in your town thats in charge of the pistol permits isn't a dickhead and will allow you to get it.

No reference need if your town ask for it they are breaking the law.Originally posted by Bluewarrior7 View PostMake sure your town approves you for a handgun permit. There is a law suite going on for town asking for extra information.

And there is a time limit by law I forget how long 8-12 weeks something like that.
Monroe sucked they required 3 notarized references and took me close to 5 months this was 9 years ago.
They will be on the law suite list 3 notarized ref. is on there website.Last edited by customcreationsllc; 01-26-2012, 11:02 AM.RCrocs #123 Brown CJ-5

I'm hoping Middlebury is lax about all that other garbage, seeing as it's either rural townies, or recently emmigrated yupsters.
I'll let you know tomorrow when i pick up my paperwork.
Justin, if i do get the runaround with all the possible notarized reference letters and stuff what is it i should do?dirty30

Yes they did and the reason for the law suite.Originally posted by YJCrawler19 View PostI thought BFPE made a ruling a couple of years ago that towns could not require additional materials beyond what was required by the state.
Personally, I just gave them what they wanted with a smile on my face, and picked up my temp when it was ready.
If they require more and it isn't a hassle I would just do it be faster but make sure to let those other guys know to stop it in the future.
Some towns were going as far as credit check, medical records etc.
You can go to the police department now and get all the paper work.
Hope you don't get stuck in the State Police Bureau of Identification
they are back logged over 1000 applications dating back to October.
