True, I've heard mixed outcomes on the quality of Kahrs mag releases and such. Maybe ill find a used 36to in my price range.

Keep in mind the price of ammo. .45 is quite a bit more if you are shooting a lot. 9mm is cheaper and you can usually carry more rounds. I hear people say they think 9mm doesn't have good stopping power and minimum they would carry would be .40 S&W but I have yet to find anyone of those large caliber guys that will let me shoot them with my little 9mm. lol
We have a guy at our club that swears by .40 cal and all his carries are some variation of that caliber but he even recommended a 9mm if you are going to shoot a lot.

Here is a tip for when you're carrying a firearm.
DON'T LOAD YOUR CARRY GUN WITH BALL AMMO. That's easily the dumbest fucking thing you can do. Use ball ammo (aka FMJ ammo) to blast down range, but when it comes to daily carry, get some good defensive ammunition. Ball ammo doesn't expand like a hollowpoint or ballistic tip and you get penetration and sometimes even over penetration. Hollowpoint and defensive ammunition is designed to start mushrooming the instant it strikes the target, sacrificing penetration for a larger wound and power. It's the difference between getting hit with a spear or a wrecking ball.
45 ACP is just as cheap as anything else respectively. You may pay a little more for 45 ACP ball ammo to shoot downrange, but in the end, saying that 9mm is weaker than 45 ACP is an asinine argument especially with the leaps and bounds in ballistic technology in today's defensive ammunition.
Also with the advent of 22 conversion kits, buying a full size 45 Glock or a full size 1911, you can easily swap the slide and barrel and magazine and put in its place a 22 conversion kit. Use .22 to plink, use 45 ball to practice and use defensive ammo to defend yourself. Just make sure that you test what you carry before you load it in your gun as defensive ammunition performs differently than ball.Last edited by Buffalo Phil; 01-25-2012, 08:31 PM.sigpic

just get a gun that you will actually carry have it be a .45 or a 9mm or even a 380
One sentence you want a 45 next you want a single stack 9 so you can conceal it.
The gun you carry is a million times more valuable than the one you leave in your safe.
Like phil said 9mm defensive round is going to do a lot of damage (not legal in NJ).
Actually if I had to do it again I would get the Glock 26 9mm over the 27 .40 the 9 is still going to stop them I would rather have an extra shot than a bigger bullet.
G26 has 10 round mag G27 had 9 but with pinky extension G26 goes to 12 and G2 goes to 10 not huge but could be enough. There isn't always just 1 bad guy.RCrocs #123 Brown CJ-5
