as ive said b4 if i were to go to the longarm i will be upgradeing the surrounding components as well. steering, trackbar ect... other than that what else is there to worry about. the jeep has one locked axle. its sitting on 3" lift. i have extended travel shocks and longer breaklines. gastank tuck. you say barely started but if i add the longarm and steering then lock th front its fucking built and still dident cost more than $2500

total rig cost now is $780

add long arm, steering, front locker, and trackbar $600 $300 $300 $130

and shits done for $2110

ok how many ppl here have blown a tranny cuz they run 33's on stock 3.55 or what ever gearing your jeep has?

locked or open i cant ever see blowing a tranny.

i honestly dont see a point in gearing for a 33" tire. id rather have the clearance, added strength and flex of a long arm.

lower gears makes your drivetrain stronger. and you can make a shortarm flecks like crazy, at 3" longarms are cool, but definately not needed, and only slightly beneficial

i should rephrase that

they are beneficial for the reasons i listed, but wont be very high off the ground with 32" tires.

tnt would be nice at that height (tarz), anything else will drag like a mofo. and without lockers can be a pretty hefty issue

and im not sure tnt can be run at 3", upper arm hits driveshaft or somethin

i had 31's stock, wasnt bad

32's stock, began to suck but lived with it

35's stock, sucked fucking ballsacks

37's and 5.38's locked on each end, loved it

36's and 5.38's locked, loved it

35's and 5.38's locked, FUCKING LOVED IT really made the bias 36/37's look slow with those gears

You mention sam running the low cog long arm thing but he also has 3/4 ton GEARED/LOCKED/BUILT! axles, steering, and big tires. You have none of those things. Personally I don't think 3 inches of lift on 33's requires long arms. I don't think you would get the full benefits of longarms with that set up. It seems like you planned your project to be a certain way and adding long arms would completely change a lot of shit.

Also I know my tranny hated me with 33's on stock gears.
