Me and a few friends were BSing in shop and this axle came up, does it have a place in the 4x4 community and would it be a good jeep axle?

Some people use the semi-float 14's. Its not bad, but full float versions can be had just as cheap. The housing is smaller, which is nice, but so is everything else.

If he has a 10 bolt now, anything is an improvement. Chevy's version of the D35...

Doesnt seem to bad It actually looks like a good axle for a mild jeep with a waggy front axle

It is. They are pretty stout. Probably comparable to a 60.

with u bolts? depending on application move the perches? possibly need u bolt plates?

                      your sense makes zero question.

idk if they make diffrent yokes for the sf, but with my ff i just got a new u bolt style yoke.

i wouldnt worry to much about them.

what is the application for this axle?

Usually 3/4 ton Chevy trucks and vans.

It would probably be too wide to run with a Waggy 44 front. 8.8 is probably a better match strength/size wise, but the different bolt patterns present an issue.

You could buy Zach's (Lycaon) Isuzu rear in the for sale section with a Waggy front. That was my plan originally.
