Odds are depending on how santa is, aka the boss/family I want to get the 8.8 from harry. I was wondering about this do to it being brought up and then looking threw the threads on it on pirate and one or two people at my school swaping them in chevys.

      My 8.8 is gone.

I'm all about obscure swaps, but they gotta make sense. Not sure this would be a great option.

        Nice one harry!
well then, 8.25 from richerdomes yard
        but why wouldent it be?
It matches a waggy 44 in bolt pattern and it seems to be tough

I'm guessing it will be 65" wide at least if it was in a full size truck. The appeal to Waggy 44s is that they are about 61" wide which is basically stock.

Don't know how wide those are but probably closer. Did they come driver or passenger drop? Guess you'd have to research.

Bottom line: it's a tough semi float axle with drum brakes. It's not a common swap, probably because there are other axles with more advantages. But if it tickles your fancy, have at it!

Question: what are your goals? Your answer will probably help this discussion head in a direction more likely to help you.

No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

Reasonable price to swap them in
I want something that's not much wider than it already is but I also want tough just in case I do something stupid.

This is kind of vague. I say finish your Jeep and go wheeling. Then start figuring out what axles will work for what you want to do.
