Hmm. How far back do they go? Have you done much recovery with them? I'm thinking of making brackets myself with some factory hooks, in the pics I just can't see them too good, doesn't look like they go back far..

If i were to build them I'd make the brackets thicker and or gusset them more. They bent outward after getting the nose pulled to the side. They only have one carriage bolt through the open hole in the unibody as added support. Frankly i want to replace them. But they were there when I needed front points, and I've towed and been towed from them and they're solid.

Cool. I was even thinking of picking up a jcr bumper tie in kit, and just installing tow hooks on those with some grade 8 or 10s... seeing as they're on sale anyways. I'm sure if their bumpers are tied in through those and pulled on, tow hooks would be fine..

Lol. I need sliders before a bumper. I got into a sticky situation the other day and my passenger doors are now crushed in pretty good but they still open I thought only Cooper stts slide off rocks into trees? Apparently bfg ats do too.

So Hux.. I now have a transfer case skid plate on my jeep...... what did you want for it?

And I found the sickest offroading spot so far.. you gotta check it out. I even towed a YJ out of a bush and up a rock face Now I need to get some towing points... ordering now (I used a chain around my axle to tow him)

I have special templates to make these if your interested...Im not sure If I have the material left at my house but if you want to get your own at your own thickness I can tailor them to however you need...They just have to be about 5 to 5 1/2 inches wide.

                            Haters gonna hate:

Winter/spring plans are to boost up an inch, gear to 4.56, move sliders into the rockers, truss the axles, and go up to 35" STT's. I have a line to get full set of 5 for under 9 through the company that provides my dad's shop with tires. I need new rims too, but I may end up getting those sooner.

Debating on disc conversion in the rear as well. At the moment I'm worried about gears/tires first, but if I end up getting bored and want to do something to the Jeep I might end up bastardizing a disc setup.

Need to do something about shocks too. I think Ian had mentioned something about moving the front upper shock mount into the engine bay- this seemed interesting, but I'd need to see different ways of doing it first. As to rears, I've seen more than a few floor-thru setups. It's on the table, but not final yet.

Sounds like a good set of plans.

IMO get the tires and gears, then stiffen the jeeps body. then move onto the other stuff

stiffening is a boring mod, but brings some peace of mind. I'd definitely stiffen before you truss.

Stiffeners = after a nice session with a straightener

My dad has a good friend that runs an auto body shop and happens to own a straightener. He looked at my fail and said he could probably pop it out a little.
