Spend the money and get one of those hinges that Ato Z fab makes with bearings and such. The Detours USA style hinge like that sucks balls.

hopefully this weekend ( depending on the snow) cutting a hole in my trunk and lifting my tank higher up and possibly trimming rear fenders while im at it...
you guys think this looks good for m rear fenders...once i cut the seam, the two pieces of sheet metal split so i can either fold them over and spot weld them or use rivets..i think the rivets look kind of cool what do you guys think?

that looks pretty sweet. From the rest of the work you do, I can tell it won't be a hack job. As for the door trim stuff, I got some at autozone. It comes in small sections, I forget how long, but it works OK.1993 XJ sport 3.5" rustys 33" MTZ's armored.

well finished up today:
had to cut my exhaust out of the way to lift the tank which is now loud as fuck i need to get it redone:
new filler/vent holes:
brackets cut down:
tank in:
rear diff where have you been, now i dont need a jack to change my gear oil:
ready to weld:
not proud of these, i can no longer use a 110v welder OR weld anything thinner than 1/8:
ghetto rigged i had to fix the kink in the filler hose, my holes were alittle off, hows the primer? lol:
of course i rushed when taking the measurement for my sheetmetal and its too small so for now ill be using a tarp + the stock cover/cushion + my spare:
very happy with the end result gained ~5 inches maybe more:
