              next order of importance:

              non-gay t-case shift linkage

clocking ring (dont know how i feel about drilling into my aw4)

custom flat bellied crossmember (not going to be exactly as pictured but i am going to modify it)

              new aw4

maybe a new np231 (jb weld is holding up just fine)

                t-case linkage is in.

                http://www.bsfab.net/?p=26

did it like he did, but a lil differently with less work and parts.

I simply took the old shift lever on the t-case flipped it up, cut a notch in it, bent it, filled in the bent part with weld and simply adjusted the new linkage to fit. in 2 hi it rests against the case, so win. in 4 lo its almost pulled straght to the handle end lever, I just hope when i clock it It will still work for me. right now it is perfect.

hmm I like that shifter idea. Mine is shitty going back into 2wd. Pretty sure that's a common 242 problem though.

What the deal with the clocking ring? What does that accomplish?

it clocks the t-case upward so you get a few more inches of ground clearance

                      • oh hey

                        completely flat crossmember is in

t-case is about 3/4" above the bottom of the framerails.

still gotta clock the case to get the driveshaft to clear the crossmember.

once its clocked it almost feels like a waste to get a belly skid in there. that shit will be so high up. all a belly skid will do is cost me clearance (lo9l)

                              • i clocked the t-case tonight

didnt bother making a jig because it looked simple enough to eye it up.

i fucked up one hole and had to file it out, but it sits nice in there now.

i bashed my floor up a little bit to clear it, but the t-case is still up against it, more bashing is in order.

the bottom of the case is a good 1.5" above the bottom of the rails now
