Well its been quite some time since I have updated this thread but for those of you who havent seen already in the shenanigans forum I'm going to be a father and I need to get some shit done on this thing before the baby comes because I will have zero time once he or she graces this earth. So....the laundry list ensues..

New bumpers front and rear, with tire carrier.
New leaf springs out back
refresh the axles
new winch and location for said winch
refresh the axles
make a new cage
one time steering
rebuilt engine, tranny, transfercase
s-10 internals for that transfer case
front frame stiffeners from LII
a new onboard air setup
brace all the leaf spring mounts
I'll add more as I think of them..and its gotta all be done in 7 months!!!

Well to start off I spent a little time after work..at work.. and made up a new rear tire carrier hinge for the rear bumper I'll eventually make. Its consists of a peice of 1 7/8'' DOM tube with two aluminum bushings in each side with 7075 aluminum which is a pretty high tensile strength aluminum so they should hold up, I can always make more. First pic is me spending some time on the engine lathe.





Heres the peices all done. Took me about 2 hours. Amazing how some simple peices can take a bit of time.

Heres the 3/4 inch bolt though the middle, only thing left is to add the grease fitting into the DOM, this hinge fits together pretty damn tight..I was able to keep the fit tolorances down to about a .003" transition fit, which is about the width of a human hair. So hopefully it wont sag.

So Ive had some ideas for a new front bumper and winch location. I wanted to get the winch down from being in front of the radiator because I will be putting A/C back in the jeep since Ill be carting around a mini me and that thing gets hottt in the summer. So I started by taking off the old bumper and winch.



Hacked a little off the factory front crossmember.



I found a peice of 2x6 angle at Logans and decided this would make a good front crossmember and winch loacation, so i started measuring it up.

Started mocking up a new front bumper, this one is going to be a little different.



Thats all for tonight I'll get more pics up[ tomorrow.
