not sure how far you got with the quick disconnect door setup you quoted at $75...but on mine i unbolted my doors from the hinges, used a die grinder with a cutoff wheel, cut the pins in half and got 5/16" quick release pins from napa... their in the balkamp section, i wanna say 700-XXXX section possibly, their like $6 for 2... way cheaper than $75...

just an idea... and good to see yet another toy build!!
87 toy: SAS, detroit, 5 speed swap, 36 TSLs, glass fenders, tons of homemade goodies...scrapped

88 Zuki: buick 3.8, th350, linkin it with toy axles, duals, tubified...watch for a build

            this is the pin

and the best of the 7 pics of it i have

just dont lose the brass hinge bushings or the door will be wobbly as all hell... and toys are nice, cuz theres no slotting on the hinge bolts, so theres no alignment bullshit to have to screw with....mine got shitty cuz i didnt have inner fenders with my glass fenders, but you might want to scuff em down a little with some 120 grit before you slip em in, and keep WD on em so they dont rust up, much like mine did haha

that's an idea. i had looked at the hinges to see if i could do anything with them but it didn't look like it would work. i might have to try this now.

Alright. here's another update. I now have the second truck, the one with the bad frame. Picked it up yesterday and went right to work on it. stripped it down so the cab and bed are ready to be swapped over and put back together.

here are a few pics for your enjoyment.

I have now towed each of those two older yotas and my 07 pulls with out a problem, up hills i just have to stay a gear lower than i normally would. According to Toyota the newer Tacomas with the 4.0L V6 are rated to pull 6500lbs. that's as much as a typical full size pick-up with a small V8. I love that truck.

my dad picked up an 08' 4.0L auto access cab. and the thing RIPS. the truck has some BALLS and still gets 19mpg average.
