so since i got this car it has been in the habit of marking its territory wherever i leave it parked. i was laying under the front end of the car last night while the oil was draining and as i was looking up i found what appears to be the source of my leak. i thought it was the oil sensor on the side of the pan which i had heard was a common spot for them to leak from but as i was looking up above where the rack rests under the engine cradle i noticed through on of the spy ports on the crossmember that the oil pan was resting right on the cradle itself. more investigation showed that both of the stock hydraulic motor mounts had collapsed causing the engine to settle down onto the crossmember so im about 95% sure of what im dealing with...

LUCKILY i was able to score a sweet deal on a 351W(Thanks Dan!) so ill be spending the next few months(and paychecks) putting it together to complete my "SC-R" conversion. the car is going up on jackstands for the winter so i can take care of the brakes and a few undercarriage mods, hopefully a transmission rebuild, and if i have to take the 3.8 out to change the mounts and oil pan anyway i may as well have the 5.8 ready to go if i need it

302 intake wont fit on a 351 spanky. the deck height is taller therefore the 5.8 manifolds are wider. its the thought that counts tho <3

Without upping compression or changing cylinder heads its not really worth the money to go to a roller cam.
Spend the money on a better intake or ignition.
Im not sure on those either but you may have to watch the lift for piston clearance.

Or something like this if there is room

                                http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-K32-225-4/

I think that would be getting close on piston clearance though. That and with a stock head, its just not going to make much difference going any bigger.
Without a split duration you will have a little better idle and it will be a little friendlier at idle with the fuel injection. Depending on setup though. I assume your gonna run it with a MAF?
