Got a little more done. The lower kingpin just flat out refused to come out.
I ended up prying up the dust cap and hammering it out through the top.
It fought me for a while. so heres the first side, finally apart.
On the bright side though, the king pin looks brand new! So thats nice.

        lower king pin

and one more pic for comparison.

lol good point. You winched them off the trailer, and i winched them into the garage.
I only knocked the 60 off the stand 4 times by the way. It was real fun to put back up by myself witht he hubs still on.
I think this weekend Ill move it on the floor, and drag in the 10.25.
The 60 is ready to be put together, so its just a matter of ordering parts now. well and getting some more money lol.

wheeled this weekend. Got some good pics.

plans for the moment are to box in my x member and taper the ends.

Move the rear shock mounts up and move the upper mounts into the cabin. Not sure on how I want to do this yet.

                  build some skidding for underneath.

                  hydro assist

Find a 8 lug d44 for the front. This will probably be next years project, but what I decided on. Being that I wont run over a 37.

fixed up my x-member and did some frame work

                    crossmember as it came out

                    ends cut off

                    plated

                    new frame stiffener

It really hit me today how well these are going to work. I jacked up the jeep and put it on jackstands right in front of the x-member and the back was up almost as much as the front.
Jacking up one corner resulted in lifting the whole side of the jeep.

                      • soooo, I just got done ordering these

which are going to be mounted to these

My shocks bottom out now, and hang down so low.
This should work out great. not going to sacrifice shock length, and Ill gain the ground clearance.
And of course plate the rear frame to reinforce the shock mount, stiffen it up, and have reinforcement for future coil mounting....

Now all I have to do is buy a real set of shocks, my POS ones will have to do for now

                              • I know right where that spot is, it's too bad that they flatten the trail in that area because there was a nice little ledge to get up there.
