Ok so as stated I installed my racing harnesses. I don't think I ever really went into detail on them when I put them in my bronco. I bought these ones because they are set up to be used with stock mounting locations for seat belts and could also be mounted on a cage... for when I have one. Now I know a lot of people will say that they aren't proper because they aren't on a cage and now are being used with a bench seat, but I can say they work. I was wearing these when I hit a tree doing about 40 in my bronco, they were mounted to the lower seat belt location for the upper using the t50 bolt and the lap belts were bolted in with the seat brackets with grade 8 bolts. I got out with a cut up lip because I was dipping and bit my lip when I hit the tree. Other than that they worked like a champ. So I did the best I could to do the same with them this time. The only real change was the lap belts are now mounted on 3/16" thick by 1.5" wide stock that is bolted to the seat mounting location and the factory buckle bolt. Now I know technically this not the 100% way to mount them, but I know they will work. I put them in mainly for offroading to help keep myself and co-pilot (my girlfriend) in place and in event of a roll they are mounted plenty strong enough to hold up. Also so they wouldn't be sitting around collecting dust anymore. Also I forgot to mention I managed to make it all work in a way that the regular 3 point should belts can still be used for on street driving.
Also my siren was mentioned. I had it in my car (1994 dodge shadow ) and I wanted it so I would have some way of making noise on the trail. Its just the animal house wolo you can buy at autozone but it's plenty loud enough. It has multiple sirens, multiple animal noises a PA setting and also the ice cream truck jingles.

Made traction bars (based off of a popular "fordspeed" design) today and put them in. Drove it maybe a mile and even stopped at my undisclosed location I use as a go to spot to test flex (only few have been there) and they don't bind and they certainly prevent axle wrap. Very pleased with myself on this one. Pics up after I take a shower, I'm currently a coal miner.1991 bowl of rice, painted red and black on a pile of nicely stacked scrap metal and 4 35's.

Ok so here we go. The traction bars I made are a U-bolt mount axle side and a bushing and mount on the frame. I started with figuring out what I would use for a bushing (thinking I would have to buy leaf spring bushings) I realized I could put to use the shock bushing that were unspoken for and collecting dust in the toolbox. So I started by cutting some 1.25" tubing. I cut 4 sections measuring 1 inch wide, I cut for just incase I messed one up while welding.
Obviously didn't weld the tube into the actual traction bars with bushing in, that one is just for example.
Then I cut the mounts and welded them to frame.... Self explanatory.
Cut them out of 2x3 .120 box tubing. The part that makes the fixed length and non shackle traction bars I made work is that I mounted them very close to the front spring hanger which makes them less likely to bind.
Then after I burned the mounts in I mocked up the bars to find the length to cut to mount the plates for you the u-bolts.
After cutting to length and welding the plates on I threw on some paint and then installed them.
Came out with what the guys on the bronco forum refer to as a "2 link" which is just a "cool" way of saying non shackle/fixed length traction bars.
After driving with them and flexing with them I am super pleased. Not to mention I like the look of them along with the function (which for a shackle flipped f150 with anything not 31's is very important). And not only do I get to say I made them.1991 bowl of rice, painted red and black on a pile of nicely stacked scrap metal and 4 35's.

Traction Bars Work!
Went to the lebanon dirt drags this past weekend and tested out the traction bars. Ended up cracking the passenger side ladder bar in the race after this one. It was a good time and I already fixed the cracked bar and sleeved both of them. And upgraded to pastel purple paint instead of black.1991 bowl of rice, painted red and black on a pile of nicely stacked scrap metal and 4 35's.
