OK so i wound up getting another 3rd member anyway because i needed a new carrier to accept the 31 spline axles and i found an entire 3rd member for 50 bucks. Good news is my locker that i had will work in both 28 and 31 spline carriers. I swapped it out and put it in the truck. No pics...just looks like a 3rd member.
New and old
going in. bronco graveyard sent me the wrong axle retainer plates by accident. they sent me new ones but said i could keep the old ones. the ole ones had 1/2 holes instead of 3/8 and were not the correct spacing. I welded the holes closed and drilled them in the correct location because i had a trip to rausch fast approaching. can you tell?

So then i snapped a front axleshaft u joint
So i ordered some chromoly axleshafts with bigger ujoints.
New and old
oh and i installed them in the rausch parking lot the day before we wheeled....why not right?

Beginning to my tie into frame adventure...
Cut the one rocker out to make room for the slider.
Got one slider mostly done just a little more welding but still have to make pedestals (that's what ill call it) for the cage off of them. Taking some time but coming out pretty good and now the drivers door opens and shuts nicely

the cage is going on top of these. thats what those flat plates sticking off the tops are for. those plates fit right up against the plates on the bottom of my cage and will get sandwiched together.2 Broncos are better than 1Comment

Hard top needed and still needs a little more trimming but still fits.

At the base of the cage. the 90deg between the cage feet and the legs going to the frame will not be strong in a rollover without a triangle between them97 XJ.Comment
