I will 2nd the Nissan Xterra motion actually. My sister had one and it was sweet. It was also pretty quick with the 265HP V6. Not sure if you can get the newest body style for under 10 grand but even the style before that are great cars and can probably be found for way under 10k. They also get decent mileageP8R
