        Fix Tix Sux

Hey I'm prepping for the comp cut will my YJ stocker flares fit ya? there dangling by 1 to 3 screws each right now. Let me know if ya need em.

Woah, idea just hit me... magnetic flares, next time you get pulled over jus slap em on and be like "Thanks, ossifer I almos forgot."
If you can buy the parts in a store, is it realy custom?

look, I know about this system all too well. I work it to the bone. My Father is a master certified mechanic. He is LICENSED to perform vehicle inspections and thereby is recognized by the state to perform these inspections. The local mieneke mexican will more then likely not be qualified or certified to do a vehicle inspection. He used to work for a mechanic shop, not the DMV or anything really that has to do with inspections. Just keep in mind when you don't actually fix your fix-it and you're pulled over for the same offense, you "DID" fix it, but on the last trail run or accident or teardown or rebuild or whateverthefuckhaveyou, you forgot, it was destroyed, or you were figuring out a way to make it sound and above all, legal again.
          Don't jeopardize your mech.'s license...

joker you have a good point. but im not trying to find a loop hole. im going to fix it. but there are other things wrong with my jeep that if i have to get it inspected ill prolly also have to fix. i plan on putting flares on it but if i can get away with just sending in the signed tickit withought havein to go there id rather do that.

and ill take them YJ flares monkey let me know how i can get em from ya...

no, you're absolutely right in wanting to fix it and not want to go to inspection. and yes a properly licensed mechanic can do it.

Huh, I got one of those. It's been 62 days and it still hasn't been touched. Haven't heard a word yet but I'm not putting flares, or dumbo ears on it.

???? better watch out. it says on mine that if you dont return it to the DMV they will suspend your registration and you must pay a fee of no less than 50 bucks... id rather have flares than get caught drivein on suspended registration but thats just me.....

Considering the only time my jeep sees the road now is when there is 6" plus of falling snow I'm not too worried about it. Plus if anything is sent my way for penalties I'm just pulling the reg. Considering just throwing some stockers on there for a day just to get it over with.

                              CT Fender Requirements Trivia

From DMV composite vehicle inspection requirements:

"FENDERS - Fenders are required over front and rear tires. Front and rear fenders must come at least half way down the rear of the tire, to the center of the axle and must start at a line directly above the axle, or be equipped with suitable mud flaps and all fenders must cover entire tread width of the tire."

Interesting trivia: A stock Wrangler's fenders+ flares don't meet this criteria!

                              Are jeeps illegal in CT?
If you can buy the parts in a store, is it realy custom?
