Ive dropped it, it went camping with me, been thrown around, and never broke. The pictures came out find, and compared to a Nikon or Canon point and shoot on auto mode, you probably wouldnt be able to tell the difference between the three. For a point and shoot, it did well IMO.
You keep mentioning it takes HD video...why on a $100 camera would you trust taking HD video...t hats just plain insane.

There's a difference between making a sensor and making it 15megapixels with terrible problems and aliasing , and making a Sensor built to give GREAT images at 10megapixels

the reason canon cams are so expensive is they tr to give you the BEST image out of the camera, kodak, panasonic, even nikon point and shoots, are built to give you lots of resolution, but terrible dynamic range, focus sucks, and adds in lots on unessentials

not all of us are aspiring Steven Speilbergs like you an will but want to take nice HD video on wheeling runs. I dont need or want some stupid expensive video camera, when all im doing is taking pictures , and very short video clips of a muddy jeep. I honestly dont give a flying fuck if the camera is sub 100 dollars . That actually makes it better. Why take a nice 380 dollar Canon SX10 ( which I own btw ) on a wheeling run or somewhere it could get fucked up easily when you could have a decent PaS that takes good looking pictures and nice looking video, and you know what, if you drop it in a puddle or smash it off a rock, fuck it, it was 78 bucks and not 380. Sure, a canon might be nice and fancy and take better pictures, but this is my point. Doug wants it for wheeling and shit and taking pictures here and there. He isnt a professional photographer. He isnt going to be photoshopping pictures. He isnt gonna be hanging these things off the wall. Hes taking quick pictures. Nothing more . Nothing less. Cheap point and shoots for the win

because canon's no questions asked warranty has fixed it each time for me for free

and then you are out of a camera 2 weeks like hawk, and you are stuck taking pictures of some of the best scenery in america on a shitty 7 MP 3.0 zoom camera.

and when i got my camera canon said it was 1 year with them , but i got the 5 year through best buy. Either way, my point is. For 78 bucks, find me a 12 MP point and shoot that takes HD video.

And doug if you are interested in that camera and arent a kodak hater, let me know and ill see if I can find the link. I actually found it posted on a canon forum.

that isnt relevant. your point was its so much money and u can break it...

if either camera breaks, (in which id say the kodak is twice as prone) youre out of a camera regardless, one likely permanently. the canon just gets fixed for nada

lets keep going on this unnecessarily long, im at work killing time

id love to sit here and keep arguing but its 1236am here and im tired as fuck.

                        my point still stands

Cheap wheeling camera = cant go wrong with a kodak for 78 bucks.

I found a PowerShot SD1100 IS Canon for $170 shipped w/ an 8GB mem card... might get it.

My Sony 7MP camera lasted for 4 years.

I see Sony 10MP & 12MP cameras for almost the same price as the 8MP Canons... not sure why.

because MP doesnt mean anything except the picture's physical size. MP does not equal quality
