    tranny is a problem I hear about constantly with those. My boss had a gas 350 with that tranny, it cooked itself at 50k. My friend has a 97 power stroke, on its 7th tranny (now with all ATS internals). But yeah aftermarket tranny and some arp headstuds and you're good to go. I'm not necessarily hating on fords, they can be sick built and I love the sound of a 7.3. I'm just saying stock I think the chevy is better equipped.

      6.0s have the 5r110 transmission and i put mine through hell with no problems

          i was told pulling a mountain at full throttle my trans evacuated some fluid onto the windshields of said people trying to keep up pulling a mountain to deep creek and ive never checked it and that was 2 years ago

          My 6.0L sounds like a 747 and a dragster when im on it.

                The injector problems with the newer duramax is because of the fuel filter. They were using 8 micron filters. They are now down to 2 micron filters. A gm truck rides really nice because of the IFS. The allison is a good tranny along with the nvg 4500.

                        i was asking cause that was the first year with the new tranny and they grenaded that year. i know all about them i used to work at aamco and pulled a few of them but in 2004 all the tranny problems were solved. like i said i beat the shit out of my 06 and have had 0 problems with it besides the hydroboost valve.

                              I love my 7.3L Powerstroke , however if I had to choose between the Duramax and a Cummins I would go with Cummins!

                                I love Fords but they're new 6.4l doesn't compare to the old 7.3l.
