that fucking place, god i love that place.....
Soo many good memories there, that truck.... When we all first found that it was in a garage, they went out with a battery and gas and were able to start it and move it to there. We never got to get it completely off the beach, the kid who was hell bent on gettin it jon, passed away before we could move it any farther.
That was one of our adventure spots back in high school. Drank lots of beer there and spent too many afternoons and skipped days of school out there.
That place holds a special place in my heart, i really hope they never tear that stuff down, even though they keep talkin about it. Havent been there since the fires, i know a lot of the houses are gone now.No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

I'm with you guys, the place is a safe haven and a bit of a time capsule. The architecture is fantastic...or whats left of it. The Bridgeport mayor claimed four times he intends on leaving the island alone (formerly named Steeple Chase Island I believe). Yet he admitted to having a crew collapse the merry-go-round and the dance hall...total bummer. I would treat that place as if it was your own home since many of those families that lived there were forced to leave with or without their belongings. Never the less, it's a awe inspiring section of beach that I too hope is never torn down and I don't believe it can be since it is a wildlife sanctuary now.
