I would think about doing way more than 4.88 with a 4 banger. O a point not covered, get rid of the d35 and get an 8.8 or 44.

I have a 1:1 4th gear with 4.56's and 38s on my Jeep, if I did highway driving I'd probably want 4.10s. But when I am in 4 Low, it crawls about 100:1. Theres other ways to acheive gearing besides ring and pinions.
However if your going to go with 35's, keep your stock drivetrain and do street driving, something even lower then 4.88s would be ideal1950 Willys Trail Rig
