very very uncommonly found in XJs- 2.5L, but im pretty sure theyre only in turdy fives. as to the 8.8, i think you can get 4.11.

none of them came with 4.56 stock iirc most came with 4.10s and lower

could stay with the 3.55s you probably got and swap in a 8.25 or an xj 44 if you can find it

not positive, assuming 35, c clip which would make it 1990 or later. its at least an option if you dont want to swap axles yet.

i have seen the 4.56 tag on a stock xj axle...but its insanely insanely rare..not worth thinkin about for a swap for that reason IMO

get a 8.8 with 4:10's and a front axle from a 4-banger TJ (4:10's). BAM factory axle swap.

and 4:10's with 33's is not bad at all

I have an 8 1/4 in it now. I am looking to do a swap in the future so I figured I'd ask in advance. My Jeep is a standard so the gears aren't even 3.55 are they?
