i wouldnt put the 2" aal on. just run the second main leaf.

i take it your running these sprung over right? have you ever seen a yj sprung over on xj leafs? you can run 40's on stock leafs. if your using your stock inboard leaf mount your mounting the shackle on the face of your rear bumper right? Just spend $50 and make an anti-wrap bar.

i cut the small eye of a main spring on a xj pack and took the bushing out of the large eye and put the large eye around another xj packs small eye.

                      BACK THE FUCK UP.

Do you plan on welding these leafs at all? You will totally FUCK them temper of those leafs. they will become brittle and snap. NO NOT WELD LEAFS. In fact, dont weld ANY type of spring. That steel is cooked to a specific temperature and then held at that temperature for a long time so the metal gains the spring tension it has. You add any excessive heat onto those springs and don't retemper them, you mine as well just break before you get onto the trail and save people a headache.

If you dont plan on welding your leafs, then disregard this message.

From the description and the photo, I think I might know what's going on, but I'll have to wait till I see what bonehead did to see if I'm right.

here's the deal with the leaf packs, i found out the btf shackle mount and boomerang shackle with a stock re-enforced xj leaf soa is the same as soa with 3-4" packs in front. So here is what i'm doing.
these are the 2 main leaf springs

here is 1 large eye (top) and a main leaf with the small eye cut off (bottom)

here is the small eye (top) and the large eye with no bushing and a little of the ring on the end cut off(bottom)

                            together makes military wrap

i'm going to put the stock packs back together with the 2nd leaf from the scrapped packs on the very top.

it should help them from bending and should help axle wrap until i can fab up a traction bar
