well...my WJ is basically set for where it is now, im at 3" and ill be putting the D30 aussie in next sunday, also i have rear lower teraflex arms to put in and an IRO a-arm spacer, should be good with the rear to about ~6" of lift...
so since im where i want to be with the current setup 3" and 31's, once i start saving again, i want to work my way to 33's and swap the rear axle out..
im stuck between 2 axles, either the dana 44a that comes in the V8 WJ's which is a 30 spline, bolt in swap, and the ring/pinion i believe is decent size...however the housing is aluminum, theres no lockers for it except trying to find a used Aussie since they discontinued it, and the only thing id have to do is shorten the rear driveshaft about an inch or so..i can probably get someone local to build a diff skid for the alum housing that hug the pumpkin as best as possible and this company bluetorch fab has a nice cover out for it..Also its a pretty decent chunk of change for one of these at a junkyard from what ive seen so far.
the other option is the 8.8....WJ WMS is ~63", 63 or 63.5 i forget which the 8.8 is alot less...need to get the 5x5 bolt pattern, brackets, somehow get the a arm to work or just switch to a different rear suspension setup, and the WJ has a weird speedo thing..im not entirely sure how it works but i need to do more research something with the tone rings on the axle shafts or something, and you need a way to get the rear to work with the front, but mallcrawlin.com has come up with a couple solutions...
sorry for the novel, what do you guys think? should i just sell my piece and save for a rubicon lol...
