I also run the Deka battery. It replaced my Yellowtop after it randomly died (after a 1 1/2 year span)on me in front of Cold Stone leaving me with a sad face and a bag of melted, overpriced ice cream
i had a yellow top in my 96 for 2 years. ran the winch and all extra lights with no issues. also drove home about an hour one night after my alternator quit on me and it started up next morning. that same battery is still in my friends blazer running his 2 3000w amps and 12" audiobans... they pricey but they worth it. never had any complaints.
my current jeep has a duralast in it. was in it when i got it.
I went through a saga of choosing a battery... Finally went with a NAPA Legend 75 I think and it has been fine so far. I have always used Napa batteries with great success, and you can buy three for the price of one Optima, and warranty it at most Napa stores if you have a problem
I was friendly with someone who worked at a local Advance Auto Parts and he said more Optimas came back then anything else
DO NOT BUY AN OPTIMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never heard anything good. Nick works at advanced and says he sees nothing come back more than the optimas. And they cost twice what a reagular good battery costs so that thing better last you 10-15 years.

i actually run a dual purpose marine battery.. deep cycle/starting.. figured if it can handle getting smashed around in a boat then the jeep will be a piece of cake for it. and i like the dual posts with the wing nuts for my winch and aux light connections...makes real simple for and not crowded http://www.westmarine.com/webapp/wcs...rice%7C1?N=377 710 1641&Ne=0&Ntt=Batteries &Ntk=Primary Search&Ntx=mode matchallpartial&Nao=0&Ns=WMPrice|1&keyword=batteri es&isLTokenURL=true&storeNum=5002&subdeptNum=9&cla ssNum=677#
I took all your advice. I decided against the optima, and got a Napa Legend 75. Works great so far, but i need a new starter, though the battery was the probem ( it was part of it ) but i also need a starter.
I like my yellow top in my jeep but i really dont run any accessories off of it. However, I have had the same everstart batteries in my dodge for 2 1/2 years and they were in there 2 years before I got the truck. I have had no problems with them. of every battery I have heard that everstarts are the best. go wal mart. and bring them back ANYTIME before the 3 year warrenty is up and you get 2 free batteries. no questions asked. just tell them they are dead. hooray wal mart again.

nope it should have the date you bought it stamped on it on that little sticker. my roommate at school had two in his cummins when he brought it back. one crapped out like a month before they were out of warrenty and brought them back and got two new ones. as long as they have the original sticker and date on them, and they are in warrenty, they cant really refuse.
this is how bad wal mart is.....my other roommate bought this gigantic Tahoe remote control car and we beat the shit out of it. we brought it back a week later with mud on it and a cracked body. CLEARLY visible. they took it back no questions and refunded the money.
If they refuse you I will be extremely suprised. I have heard of people just going back to wal mart and swapping out batteries every 3 years and getting free ones
