As some of you know i had some issues on the way home from rausch. I was going downhill and the cruise control was holding back my speed and i hear several loud bangs followed by a cloud of smoke. i let it coast to the side of the road where it shut off on its own. I was not able to restart it although it cranks strong with no bad noises. Anyone have any ideas on what went wrong? blown ring? bad valves?

ok i started off checking for spark and fuel and i have no spark. i pulled the dizzy and everything looks good. Next i drained the oil and found no metal particles. I am stumped because i dont know of any mechanical failures that would kill spark. I guess it would sort of make sense for it to be a bad sensor. Sensor fails causing lack of spark which leads to misfiring (loud noises) and the smoke is from all the unburned fuel.
Today i checked compression on all cylinders and all were about even, over 120. They all held for 5 minutes with no drop. I tried disconnecting the CPS with no luck.
