Help me on sway bars

The top bolt of the sway bar wont come out on eather side i was wondering if there was a trick i took the pin out and nut off but it wont conme out tried hammer and a crowbar but it wont pop off and there is like a flat head screw on the bolt idk im stumped was about to just angle grind it off but i thought i would ask you guys first thanks

As for helping, im not really sure what bolts your talking about or what you have undone already, but if all the bolts are out and its just siezed in place, try jacking up one side of the jeep's frame, then the other. should pull it outta place if its just stuck. good luck dude.

I took out the track bar but that damn sway bar wouldnt come off took the nuts out but the link wont come off the sway bar

i have my own inquiry about sway bars on a xj

i'm not takin the front one out, just gonna get disconnects, but for the back, i changed out the leafs for 3.5 inch spring pack, and now driving on the highway nd above 52, yes 52 miles per hour, if i hit a pump the back starts to shake side to side violently, and the bounce up and down. SO my questions are, 1) do i need the sway bar back in to stabalize it, 2) shouldn't rear leafs be stiff enough, i know a lot of people who ride without it, 3) are there any disconnect capabilities that allow me to take apart, relink it without have to completly take it out.

you're rear is probably out of alignment somehow. fred had that.

on a TJ though? that can be trackbar issue...cody just had that this past weekend in his tj

on an XJ i dont know what would ever cause that

yj's have track bars. doesn't mean a leaf spring can't produce the same hop if it or the bushings are soft enough.

Hmmm, death hop, describes it pretty well, any quick cures? and how could i fix the allignment of the rear axle...its pretty dam centered on the leafs

yj's have track bars. doesn't mean a leaf spring can't produce the same hop if it or the bushings are soft enough.

and my point that I think you over looked is that a YJ is leaf sprung (like an XJ) but still has trackbars.

what i was saying was, slop in a trackbar on a tj can cause it in the rear, referencing your fred reference.

leaf bushings arent gona let the leafs move side to side violently.

fred hasn't had a rear trackbar in years. I'm sayin.

I would venture to say, at low speeds, with a tire severely out of balance, or an axle out of alignment, it is quite possible to have a wobble or hop get quite out of hand with the right rotation.

Mine was up front, and was solely a product of an (1) unbalanced tire. get your tires balanced. it will probably fix your issue.
