Keep the 32's. Lock front and rear. Buy some rock sliders, maybe a one ton steering setup, some diff armor.
You'll be amazed at what just doing lockers will do for the jeep's offroad performance
I'm confused. Why are you telling me to steer away from this deal (pun intended), then telling me to lock it?
If i go with this, i get ARB air lockers, two D44's, bushwhackers, a snorkel, a rear bumper w/ tire carrier, all for 1700$.
Yes, it may be geared a little deep for 32's. (I think with 32's i'd want like 4.56) However, once these tires have no tread left, i plan on getting a bigger tire and 4.88 would be perfect. (I think 4.88's are good for like 35's, and if i were to get the 37's he has i'd probably want 5.38's.)
I already have the Currie HD steering, which is way better than the stock setup. I was going to get the one ton from JCR, but i didn't want to ream my knuckles out.
Good locker good price..... do u have on board air? Lunchbox will do u best starting off..... You really dont need gears for 32s.(dont tell anyone i told you that)
You wont break ur 8.25. Ive ran welded on 33 32 35 and i beat thee shhhhit out of it.
If it aint broke dont fix it
And no. I would not buy a snorkel. Never had one, think its more of a hey look at meeeee accesory
Get yourself 2 lunch box lockers. Buy a welder, grinder, steel
wheel, learn
build cool things
profit
while i agree with andy and will about learning his vehicle i think something is being overlooked here.
When some one says i want to build a 44 everyone just retorts back... BUILD A FUCKING 60. because you will regret building a 44.
So why should he build up his 30/8.25 when he can step up right now? I mean it's not like he's going to NOT learn how to wheel with these 44's. Andddd i am pretty sure if he gears his 30 then he is going to have someone do it... soooo no loss on acyually working on the axles.
If he can install them and have working arb's for the price he is getting them at... fucking do it. you wont say "wow, I wish I hadn't bought these and I should have built my 30/8.25 up.
I say if you have the money... do it. you won't regret it in the long run... well maybe... when you get to the breaking point of those 44's then you will wish you would have built up 60's... it is a learning curve. and get the fucking snorkel. everybody asks me why i have a snorkel on my jeep and i say it is for that one time when i need it. for 50 bucks you cant go wrong.
im not discredititing you andy. It is a good i dea to learn before you build... but he will learn with an upgraded jeep whether it is a 30/8.25 or 44's
