My main issue was the axle was rotated to far forward last time, im not sure on what would be considered up and down, the pinion still points a bit high

no, the top of your inner c, where the upper ball joint goes(can also measure on the balljoint) should be tilted back 6 degrees... fuck whatever angle the pinion is at...

Just ordered a set of uppers, not sure when they will be here but that caster is fine? i should be able to throw in the drivers side, then swap out the pass side and not have to change anything?

i would replace that upper control arm bushing on the axle. and if your talking the caster on the balljoint... then yes that is fine

What do you mean it rotated? Look at the pinion from the back of the axle, it its going up then its positive if down the negative. Get an angle finder on it.

Check your toe like Andy said.

QUIT TALKING ABOUT THE PINION ANGLE!!!!!!!! your making shit more confusing. i dont even pay attention to the pinion angle on a dana 30....

the caster angle is the angle at your balljoint......

When i measured, it was by putting the angle finder on the top of the inner C, and ill replace that upper bushing when i get the uppers. Thanks

I run my tnt radius arm setup with one upper arm on the driver side. with the rubber bushing in the housing on the axle the jeep was nearly uncontrollable. Put a hard joint aka johnny joint in there and bam it tracks great. I have been wheeling this way for 3+ years with 0 issues. just make sure your lower arms are the same and you have at least 1 hard joint on the upper control arm IMO.

Changing your pinion angle will affect your caster as well. Maybe you need to rotate your knuckles to make your pinion angle and caster angle within a decent parameter.

Hey cut me some slack I've been up for 24 hours. This shit is just too entertaining to go to bed now. I have to do another 12 hour shift in 4 hours.

just so everyone is on the same page here. yes your pinion angle will affect your caster, durr. but personally, i check my caster...... where the pinion sits, is where it sits......
i mean we are all smart enough to realize this is a dana 30 out of an xj....more than likely not a low pinion. its not the first time this setup has been done.... no one needs to rotate their knuckles to get the optimal pinion angle and caster....... just set the caster at the knuckle.
