Axle tag codes:

3L73 = 3.73 LS

4 10 = 4.10 open

4L10 = 4.10 LS

and so on

I always try to work smarter not harder.

And as such, the first time I went there looking for axles I had to crawl under a bunch of Explorers. I noticed on the door jam there is a sticker and it has a code for what axle ratio is in it. I did a little searching and found this

41 3.27C
42 4.10C
43 3.08C
45 3.55C
46 3.73C
D1 3.27L
D2 4.10L
D4 3.73L
D5 3.55L
L - Limited Slip Differential
C - Conventional Differential

So if you go the the JY and don't feel like crawling under every one of them you can look at the door sticker to see what it has. Of course before you take it home, double check that is is truely what the door sticker says it is
