The easier way is nitrous or a decent sized turbo.

The way i look at it, saying 20k was put into the motor doesn't really mean much....What specific pieces you spent that money on is the real question. You can buy all the top of the line parts off the shelf, but if they don't match/perform well with one another, your going to make shit horsepower.God made the world in seven days, on the 7th day, he made the Le Car

Something tells me that the engine shop dave is referencing didnt just go grab random expensive engine mods out of a catalog and start attaching them where ever
just a hunch- Will

By allmeans will, that's not what im trying to say, what im saying is, certain parts work well with other certain parts, you have to figure which combo will work the best.God made the world in seven days, on the 7th day, he made the Le Car

Just finished my stroked 4.0 build for a friend, got like 478 hp to the muffler bearings before my valve spring rebinding circuit gave way on my aquatic dynometer...
I feel as of now I would believe somewhere between 230-280 hp out of a stroker engine would be reasonable and make me happy, if I really want 300+ horseponies I'd just as soon utilize a turbodirty30

I don't believe zullo or hux have been around long enough to know who Dave is or what he does. Dave is a competant person to say the least when it comes to messing with engines. I wouldn't go mouthing off if I were yous having never built anything with power before...

i talked to a friend that builds race motors, he said he could get 300 out of a 4.0 pretty damn easy. Not in here to knock Dave or anything, but theres a big difference between street performance and racing (keeping in mind i still don't know what he does). In fact i actually got a laughing phone call saying this thread was hilarious, cause everyone is so full of shit in here, and that me and hux are right.
I have completely rebuilt a 4.0 and have built enough 305's to do it in my sleep. No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

I`m just going to throw it out there of WHY you need more power out of your 4.0L? Dont waste your time\money with chips, 01 intake manifold replacing anything, or boring anything. Its not worth the work IMO. Dont touch the engine, just gear it.
Horsepower is a lot harder to make then a few of you are giving credit. I can solid examples of 2 engines in personally built but thats neither here nor there. Anything that gives you a 15HP gain is not as easy as swapping out another stock intake and taking kinks out of an exhaust.
80% of this thread is a tornado of bullshitI don't always drink orange juice, but when I do, I prefer to chew it. #madpulp
