I think that is the way I am going to go, I saw a couple lst night when I was looking around, if it takes 5 minutes to put them in thats quicker then warrantying a locking hub. I hardly ever drive it around town.

They also put less wear and tear on front axle components if you drive around town fairly often, and give you a teensie bit better milage.

Owen, if you search around I'm almost positive I remember seeing a company or two on Pirate that sells removable drive slugs. When you pop off the trail, unscrew the cap, pull the slug, then throw the cap back on.
Seems like the best of both worlds to me.

hmmm looks like superwinch is not that great. I just am not impressed with Warns either. I have one friend who had the Dynarac locking hubs and I wasn't very impressed by them either. It was always a fight to engage them.

tom went through 2 or 3 sets of superwinch hubs on his trooper in a few months.

what brands of hub were you thinking of going with? my dad ran Milemarkers in his 84 Silverado and they also both broke, and all that truck did was plow. He switched to Warns and has had them in for about six years now, they held up pretty well.
definitely looking forward to some of these upgrades
I really like flanges, I have some in right now, but next time I have to drive to a trail on the road it will suck. I was checking out Kappy's Superwinch hubs, I like that they are in CT, because if they give me balls about returning them, I can drive there and flip. The Milemarker rep I bought my locking hubs from said "if you ever have a problem just send 'em back" but he failed to tell me "we won't even talk to you if you don't have a receipt."Originally posted by clean4drxj View Postowen just go driveflanges or go with powertrains, bob has them on his 79f350 and they've worked well for 8 years or so with plowing and all..
I think I am going to get 35 spline outers too.
