wow....digging those knuckles too! J/W ...how much was that welder?
you should hold a welding class,Owen...cause youve got it down...my neighbors been a welder for 35 years(granted hes old as fuck) and he doesnt come close to what youre doing...
I have a Hobart 200 MIG and a Miller Maxstar 152 TIG/stick with a snap box, I paid under 1000 for each machine.
I work with guys that make my welds look like a joke, but I don't think it can be taught past fundimentals... you can either do it or you can't (my opinion)

Welded up some little tie rods...

Welded a new fill hole in my front diff cover, made it out of a 1/2" x 1" bushing.

Painted them both and installed! (after an hour or so of fiddling with the shims to get the clevises line up on the ram)

Clocked the Stak and bolted it on!

Ground clearance way better

Started cutting the hood to clear some shock hoops, going to have to cut a little more I think but it should look kinda neat

Lol it can be at my house if you feel like making the drive.Originally posted by Customjob View PostWe will make one if there is nothing:
The official "OWENS RIG IS DONE SHAKEDOWN RUN" (bring your own chair)
its 100% duty cycle lol... the only stuff I have MIG welded was the axle brackets to save some time. I am only running a #9 air cooled torch, its nice for doing all the tube welds and stuff on the frame, you get way stronger vertical and overhead welds with the TIG. The Ballistic Shave kit I stick welded with 7018. Thanks for the compliments, I am working on becoming a code welder.Originally posted by kracker View Postman...youre working the shit outa that welder huh? nice stacks o dimes!.....all thats TIG?

yea... I wish... I'll get it done and take it out this fall, if there are any SIS runs.Originally posted by Customjob View Postso...itll be done by next weekend?
Thanks, yeah I thought about that too, I didnt feel like adding anymore weight to the front axle, so I didn;t do anything. We'll see how it works, I can always add more.Originally posted by Even View PostLove this project Owen, it's coming along nicely.
One question though, did you put any thought into fabbing some sort of skid underneath the front trussing/ram mount? The way that plate creates almost a right angle in relation to the axle itself seems like it could potentially be a big hang up. It appears to be pretty high up though, so you may not be too concerned with it. Just thinking out loud.
