just at a curiosity why did you weld the brackets in a upside down u rather then a normal u....
her is my representation...lT instead of l_l... it seems lik under droop the shock will come into contact

Not so much with droop, but when the axle articulates I fear it may hit...Originally posted by Supermanxj View Postjust at a curiosity why did you weld the brackets in a upside down u rather then a normal u....

Went on a little cruise today and the jeep seems to soak up bumps even better now. Not sure how that works but I was legit trying to hit bumps and it seemed better. I found a nice flat parking lot and both sides measure out at an even 5 inches of shock shaft showing. Im guessing the spool likes to throw it off because it torques the rear end up when i turn. I really wanted about 4.5" of shaft showing but when I figure with the weight of me and a passenger, I should be right around there. I still want to get some new coils or at least test some others out and see if its worth it. Further testing will hopefully be done today after I get caught up on school work because I decided to do shock mounts instead
Also, I was looking under it today and found my pitman arm nut on the box was loose to the point where the lock washer wasnt doing anything.
whoops

Test drive # 2. Everything seemed great. it flexed well and the shocks didnt seem to come into contact with the mounts. I only flexed to the point where it was just barely touching the bump and I still had an inch and a half of shock travel and about an inch and a half until the tire hit the fender. I didnt get much high speed test in but i did get to do a little bit on a potholey road. It did well. no bottoming out or anything. The only thing I really need to do is rebuild the UCA joints BAD. and the leaf bushings are bad already too. Fucking Rustys.
