          • you can get 4.88s for the 8.25

and dont even start with the pinion size bullshit argument. also, i wouldnt want 4.88s with a manual tranny on 35s.

Low gears are key to wheeling a standard, trust me. 4.56 min. for 35s. 4.56 isnt bad on the highway with 33/34s a little high but im sure it wouldnt be bad if my jeep wasnt so dman loud to begin with.

I dont want 4.88s. I want 4.56. I never said anything about wanting to run 4.88s. and what you want isnt always what everyone else wants I know how to drive a manual off road. and I have a 6 puck in it. it tends to grab nicely.

edit: nvm that 4.88 comment was directed at josh

oh and just out of curiosity why would i build an 8.25 if I can get 4.10s (which you said would be a good ratio), disc brakes, and a stronger axle for cheaper?

I think he's saying to keep the stock shafts, but even if you were to break even I don't see why you would do it.

oh right, missed that. I still would rather have a stronger axle. For what im gonna pay to gear the 30/8.25 I could have a 4.10 8.8 with discs and a 4.10 D30. for what i would pay for an 8.25 gearset and install kit i could have a stronger axle. Just my opinion
