i have been told that a four inch streached wheel wheel will work with the strech that i did, so i am goin to buy some four inch streched corners from sniper fab with now flares yet and see if it will work if it doesnt they are only like 20 bucks more then the comp cut corners so i will just comp cut those ones and make it work then order some 6 inch comp cut tube flares from them and call it a day.

Definately cool if you can stay away from the comp cut. You have the potential to have a really clean and functional jeep. I really like the H2s... What is the backspace on them?

They are a 8.5 inch wide wheel with about 5.5 inches of back spacing, thats why they suck the tires in alot on the full width axles. the rear tires stick out about as far as the 33s i have on the dana 30 front. yeah thats the plan i want something that i can drive everyday if i really wanted and something that will also run pretty well offroad that i dont have to really worry about breaking anything.

Right now the plan is to run 4.88s or 5.13s in the axles, with the five speed and the 37s i will still only turn around 1800rpm on the highway in fifth gear. goin to SYE the tcase, down the road swap in a nv3550 out of a newer TJ. I am goin to run sniper fab works corners and rocker guard, tube fenders, and their YJ Cage. goin to probably run BTF front grill hoop. find a 9000lb winch. The front suspention is goin to be a shackle rev. and i am goin to be running XJ spring in the front as well to get a softer ride. steering goin to run hi steer and hydro assit, from parts mike. and thats about it.

Plannin on beating the hell out of it, and seeing what happens.

You will probably need to run an anti wrap bar in the rear with the cherokee springs. I originally used a cherokee main with a full length "helper" spring and then leafs from a stock yj pack. It wrapped really bad. My friend has a YJ with a similar setup, he built an anti wrap bar and it works pretty well

just curious as i have a soa setup as well.... why use the xj springs? ive never heard of this before...im using rubicon express 1.5" w/ antiwrap perches ....the ride is stiff on the road but in the trails it flexes nasty ....how come you didnt do that...you cant use them in a stretched wb setup?just curious because i was thinking about stretching my wb as well . also have you ever seen that setup where they use those wierd looking (best way i can describe them) half a spring? where one goes from frt of axle to frame mount and the arch is on top? saw it in one of the mags...(cant f'n find it) wonder if something like that would work for wb stertch....
99 XJ on tons and 40s....

Next time you can grab a cherokee spring and a tape measure, check out how far from the "center" (halfway between spring eyes) the centering pin is. It is offset pretty far towards the end with the large bushing. The overall length is pretty close to a YJ spring, with has centered centering pin, "symmetic" if you will.

I'm sure you have an idea why people want to extend the wheel base. By using a leaf spring with an offset centering pin, the spring mounting stays basically the same at the frame end while the axle is moved back. If you wanted to use stock YJ springs with a symmetical leaf spring to stretch the wheelbase, you would have to move the whole spring back, and subsequently run out of frame to mount the shackle to.

                    Hope that helps

thats called 1/4 elliptical. its all the work of a 4 link and more, and you get more problems then if you just used a spring / coilover. its what people did 10 years ago, almost no one does this anymore

ha ha ha ha, well right now it is sitting under the jeep, the front Shackle rev i made is to short so i have to re make the brackets not a huge deal and i need to move the rear swing shackle mount up. once that is done then i need to order my steering, then put in the gears axles hubs brakes. then once that is done. i need to run all new brake lines and fuel lines. then its on to the body, cage, skid plate, rear disk conversion. hoping to get it done by end of july, aug.
