Good luck, anything is possible with time and money. At least you didn't pay a lot for it. Have you looked at pricing/financing for new trailers? I know I was surprised at how affordable having a new one is...plus peace of mind.

Not to discourage you, you built a kickass jeep so I'm sure you can build a kickass trailer, but I think it would be hard to build a trailer for what a new one costs

I like projects like these, simple and go by quickly. Widened the axles 18" and stripped the frame of useless metal tonight. Tomorrow I'll add all the crossmembers and the pieces that come off the frame.

$75 frame
$10 spring perches
$20 2" dom & 2" x 3" angle

I either need to find another rim like that one so keep your eyes peeled or I need to decide if it's worth 170 bucks to get new drums with a jeep bolt pattern and just use my steelies.
