Figured I would post some pictures of the front locker install with my dad from X-Mas 2009.

      Front end in the air

Removed the hub, caliper and rotor

Next remove the two bolts found on the rear of the third member

Then you're going to remove the majority of the front bolts.

Then remove this giant SOB and get it in an area where you are comfortable working. I chose my bench.

Then follow steps to remove the carrier.

And because the dana 44 requires a case spreader and I didn't have one at the time I figured out a way to use a hi lift and some bolts to spread the case.

From their you are going to want to remove your spidy gears and throw them as hard as you can at the ground and proclaim you role as a higher being by screaming profane language at them, ok that may be a bit far. We had an issue with the way the actual locker fit inside the carrier so we shaved it down a little bit like so.

Next place the outer pieces of the locker in the carrier

Then you have to make sure all of your gaps are correct and place the rest of the locker in the carrier.

Then place the carrier back in the 3rd member you can do this by lightly tapping it with a rubber mallet or dead blow mallet. Also don't forget to seal it up with either a gasket or some RTV.

      RTV

        HD Drag Link

So one night (in February 2010) we went night wheeling and in an attempt to get out of a mud hole with 6 inchs of ice on top, we destroyed my exhaust and then bent the drag link. So after looking into upgraded steering links I decided to see if I could figure one out using tubing and a stock drag link.

        Heres the bent link

Fitted the link up with some 1 1/4" 1/8" wall tubing and got this.

Well a lot of this is a little to late. Which I will explain in another post shortly. Figured I'd cover the stuff the truck has.

Don't believe I covered the rear seats so here they are with pics of the mounts.

The seat belts are bolted into the mounting bracket. The seats are set up to remove 4 bolts and then they slide out.

Now I think I'll post the rear bumper. I made it so that I would have recovery points and also because I got tired of the stock bumper that wraps around the body.

I was careful to even include inserts for the license plate.

Well as of right now I don't plan to swap it for anything. I'm only planing to go 6"s of lift and 36's or 37's so there is no real need for now. I have considered the straight 44 but it would be a while for me.

ford 44's are everywhere and hanging them from leaf springs is a cake walk. I say do it now.

Will a ttb44 locker work in a solid axle 44?

Yeah it will work and I don't believe in coil to leaf conversion. Besides there is something stopping me besides the fact I'm an unemployed 16.... well as of saturday 17 year old. It would be this.

No I've had my license for a while now. I had it at the time of the accident also. But uh yeah so thats pretty much whats been holding on to me. BUT!!! I have something in store for the trail and I plan to start the build soon. I know she's got the auto cancer but for now I'm not worried about it.
